What to Know for Spring 2023

Spring has finally sprung here in the Colorado Rockies and here’s what to expect for this spring 2023 at Beaver Run Resort, Breckenridge Ski Resort and within the Town of Breckenridge.

SKIING & RIDING

Breckenridge Ski Resort closed for the 2022-2023 ski season on Sunday, May 21. Arapahoe Basin is set to close on June 4.

It’s true you can ski and ride at Breckenridge into May at the ski resort. Make sure you know before you ski or ride. Peaks 9 and 10 closed on Sunday, April 17 and then all skiing access for the rest of the season was out of the Peak 7 base area. Peak 8 base area closed April 23 and the Gondola closed on April 30.

Please visit www.breckenridge.com for up-to-date information.

During the peak winter season, Beaver Run Resort is a ski-in, ski-out property, but during the early season and late season the Beaver Run SuperChair, the main lift serving the property, is usually NOT operating. Check ahead to know what terrain, chairlifts and operations are open throughout the season, especially during the early season (November and December) and late season (April and May).

IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS

We’ll be busy as beavers this spring with two exciting improvement projects this spring to repaint the exterior of the buildings and repair some of the south-facing balconies.

PAINTING: Starting in April, crews started prepping and painting the exterior of the buildings at Beaver Run Resort. The exterior painting work will continue throughout the summer. During the project, our contractors will place protective coverings on windows and sliding glass doors in the area where the painting is happening. This is a temporary, but necessary, step in this project and these coverings will be removed the same day the painting occurs.

BALCONY REPAIRS: We’ll also be working to repair and replace some of the south-facing balconies in individual units, starting in mid April. As a guest, you will not be assigned to a unit where the work is occurring and our team will work to mitigate any impacts from this project.

SKYWALK MARKET REMODEL: The Skywalk Market will be closing this fall for an extensive remodel project to transform the space with a coffee shop, serving Starbucks, enhanced deli, pizza oven and grocery areas, and a new candy corner and ice cream nook. The market is expected to re-open by the winter season.

SPRING HIKING & BIKING

Before you head out on the trails, make sure you check the trail conditions. Spring snow melt and run-off are common in April, May and even into June. Help us protect and preserve our trails. Do not hike or bike on muddy trails. If you’re leaving tracks, turn around. Check the MUDDY METER.
